Jacko's Kan-anan, Iligan City

About

Jacko's Kan-anan is a customer satisfaction-driven restaurant humbled by eclectic Filipino and classic cuisine food offerings coupled with warm hospitality in a very convenient yet soothing dining feeling, without pinching the customers pocket. This newly revived restaurant [after being totally washed-out by typhoon Sendong on December 2011] is located at the National Highway, Hinaplanon, Iligan City, Philippines.

As a regular customer, I believe they champion in making their tasty and delicious food. This is because their ingredients are of high-quality and as a customer satisfaction-driven restaurant ingredients quality is the utmost considerations and I believe they got a five stars on that.

While looking at the photo above, who's mouth don't salivate?  As you can see Jacko's Kan-anan's specialty is on sea-foods and veges. From the sumptuous Crispy Squid which is one of my favorites, the Crispy Tuna Buntot, the juicy Grilled Tuna Belly,  the sweetened Crispy Pugapo, the flavorful Kinilaw. In their vege line-up Kare-kare which was I first tasted at Jacko's during the thanks giving mass after the One for Iligan Donation Drive, Chopsuey, their pinakbet and another is my favorite in their vege lineup - the Jacko's Lumpia Shanghai.

New Offerings

Jacko's Kan-anan is very receptive and flexible in terms of offerings. Why I say so? From Jacko's Kan-anan's humble beginnings in 2009 they have been constantly innovating offerings that is in accordance with what their customer needs. Most importantly, for all the seasons or celebrations the world has, surely, Jacko's is always in. Talks about Valentines Day -they have Eat All You Can promo on valentines day. Since, today is Mothers Day, Jacko's has this promo just for our beloved mother. Every mother that dines at Jacko's gets a bouquet of flowers. Yep! not just you enjoy the food at Jacko's, at the end of the day you can give a flower for your mother. Isn't it thoughtful and touching?

Catering Services

Meanwhile, Jacko's Kan-anan offers buffet catering services for your family and company special occasions. May it be weddings, birthdays, and anniversary celebrations and you know what, you can choose from their menu what food you want to serve to your precious visitors and friends.

Jacko's Foam Carwash

Jacko's Car-wash is the Jacosalem Family's first business. The Kan-anan was added in 2009 upon realizing that it would be beneficial for the car-wash customers to have their cars being washed while dining or vice versa. I'm telling you! Their carwash is very affordable and their services is really more than the worth you are paying for. Hmmm and you can have coffee while waiting for your vehicle get cleaned up.

Here is my over-all assessment of Jacko's Kan-anan.

Gazpacho's Bar and Restaurant, Iligan City

Gazpacho's Bar and Restaurant is a restaurant renowned for authentic and gastronomic Filipino flavor cuisines, regardless of its Mexican name. It is located  at Quezon Ave., Extension, Pala-o, Iligan City.

Its quite remarkable for this family owned business for surviving through times, for having been serving the public and of staying in business for twenty-three (23) long years since its first opening in 1989. In terms of credibility, this famous venue for wedding, wedding anniversaries, birthdays and even for a simple"barkada" get-together celebration has been given enough time to build its credibility. The time tested taste of Gazpacho's is already part of the City's long history.

I was even more surprise, when I learned that this family owned restaurant is owned by no other than the most prominent and popular clan of the Lluch in Iligan City. Why popular, well, the present City Mayor of Iligan is a Lluch---Mayor Lawrence Lluch Cruz and this famous restaurant is located just at the foot of Buhanginan Hills, a few meters away where the Iligan City Hall is located. So my advice, is that you stroll first at Iligan City Hall and visit the Anahaw Amphi Theatre before indulging yourself with a celebration of Gazpacho's gastronomic flavors.

The Menu

Gazpaho's Menu is varied, but most prominently are Filipino flavors such as Kare-kare, Chicken Noodles, Adobong Baboy Ramo, but based in my experienced I do love their Seafood Festival and the Native Chicken Soup.

In my last article, I described the Seafood Festival as---a taste of heaven, but I do recognize the fact that I do love seafoods so much so this review might be biased. Anyway, the only way to find out if what I said is really true, then you must come and visit the place and I guess your experience will prove me right. Wohh! I felt a  lot of confidence in that line though :)).

Seriously, to prove if what I said is true, you really have to experience it. So, my challenge for you is to try Gazpacho's Seafoods Festival. From the name its self---it declares a celebration. A celebration of all the sea foods you can possibly think of in the sea.

Another favorite from Gazpacho's menu is the Crispy Pata. I've heard many times of this thingy, but I was not able to taste it until I was with a group and we dined at Gazpacho's later in November 2011. I did not expect that it was really that crispy and the serving was really huge. The experience was simply indescribable. Well, after the loss and the awakening surprise of the century, who will not get revived and alive? Oh! here I am lost again with my own thoughts. Anyway, I am only talking about the surprise I had on November 2011. It was a very exhilarating surprise!

Other Favorites

Since, I was with a group that time, what really happened is that everyone has to order one dish and we got a platter of rice for us to share. If you are a friend of mine, you knew already what I ordered, but since we are not yet that close---here is what I had that night. Tadaaaang! Native Chicken Soup. Yes, I am a soup lover. In every meal I always choose something that has soup. I love fish and I love green veges. Well, I learned lessons the hard way. Before, I used to get contented what is being served in my table. Now, I always make sure that there are veges on my table before eating meat.

Yay! I was so surprised when the soup was served in front of me, because I really thought of being greedy that night---that is eating everything what I ordered. Shockingly the serving is good for eight person. See? Another lesson! Ask the waiter first how many people get serve per serving. Imagine, If I were alone at that time? I can't imagine how big and how full is my yummy tummy!

Finally, the most appetizing "Kilawin" that I had that night is Gazpacho's Kilawin Tangigue. Any food that is seasoned by vinegar is a no! no! for me supposedly. Its just that when I tasted the foods that we ordered I decided not to let the Kinilaw go away without tasting it. So I had a lot of bite from it simply because I liked the taste of it.

Anyway, wondering why I only featured four dishes? I guess by reading the article you will know the answer. So why, I only featured four dishes in this article? Write it in your comments.

Here is my over-all rating with Gazpacho's Bar and Restaurant.

Aruma Coffee Lounge, Iligan City

Aruma Kissaten was first open to the public on December 2007. This humble restaurant coffee shop is located at Preface Building, De Leon cor. Burgos St., Poblacion, Iligan City. When you are in the city proper, no need for you to take a ride because its just a walking distance from the Post Office or from the  St. Michael's Cathedral.

What's in the Menu.

Aruma offers a full range of meals that will surely satisfies our timely cravings and hunger. One of my favorite in their menu is their chicken curry. Well, I love their curry for dinner! But they offer more than just the curry I mentioned. They also offer sandwiches and clubhouses and even vegetable and fruit salads.

Aruma Sweet Treats.

Banofee Pie is the best sweets I ever had in Aruma. If you are visiting Iligan you should take time and visit the place for this one thing that will really make your eyeballs roll and gone all white. Blueberry Cheesecakes is another sweets that are offered at Aruma. Its what my friends love to eat when we are at the place. Anyway, try visit their place and you will know that they offer more than just what I mention in this post.

Thirst Quenching Drinks at Aruma.

Aruma caters to both health conscious customers and customers who simply love dining and get inspired from the food that are served in their meal tables. While in Aruma you can have several drinks selection, from coffee, softdrinks, fruit flavored shakes to the cold mixtures.

Coffee, I am not addicted to it, but I admit! I am one of the new converts. Yes, ever since my childhood I never tasted coffee. I once tasted coffee during my fourth year college when I had no choice but to have a few sip from my professors offering. I had no choice back then, but all I ever remember is the bitterness and the strange aruma and feeling after having it. I was like drunk then. Lately, I am surrounded by coffee addicts and certainly my tummy hates milk and malt drinks.

Aruma Frappe's. A frappe is a smoothies that is a mixture made from fruit juice or other flavored liquid that has been frozen to a slushy consistency. Aruma's mocha frappe is my favorite because it is sweet and savory. The good thing about frappe's is that it is good both as a drink and as a dessert itself because it is fruit flavored and also, it has ice cream.

Aruma Fruit Shakes. Do you love to eat fruits? Well, not exactly munching a fruit but what I mean is drinking fruit juices. For health conscious people, I believe Aruma fruit shakes while dining is the best for you. Aside from improving your immune system and making your body healthier, fruits are vital food source that helps revitalize your body and helps rebuilding healthy blood.

You know what really makes people comes back at Aruma aside from the excellent food and drinks? Well, its gonna be their friendly service crews and personnel. Right at their doorstep the security guard will greet and open the door for you and upon approaching their front reception table, the in-charge will greet you and give her/his sweetest smile. By the way, Aruma is wi-fi hot spot, another service which you cant possibly have in some restaurant in Iligan City or even in the entire Philippines So while munching your snacks or meals you can conveniently log-on to your Facebook page and enjoy it.

On the other hand, I love the ambiance inside. Cigarette smokers are to stay outside while those who don't smoke can stay inside the glass walled dining area, enjoying the freedom from cigarette smoke. I supposed, restaurants in the Philippines should be designed like theirs. This feature of the restaurant coffee shop I believe is very advantageous, because different age group can come at their place like the executives, students, senior citizens and etc.

Overall, here is the rating for Aruma.
